If the mood for delicious Japanese street food strikes you, set your destination for Mitsuru Cafe. Set in the Japanese Village Plaza in Little Tokyo downtown LA – this Dessert Tour spot serves up a selection of street styled treats sure to satisfy your cravings. As you walk up, you immediately see through the shop’s window their Imagawayaki station where rows upon rows of these hot Japanese griddle cakes are freshly stuffed with a sweet red bean paste. The degree is sweetness is on point – subtle and not too sweet. We recommend eating these right away as the soft chewy cakes are the perfect texture when coming out fresh, hot, and skillfully browned. Another favorite is the Mitarashi Dango (mochi doused with soy glaze). After your dessert palate is satisfied, Mitsuru also offers a variety of savory snacks such as their Takoyaki – crunchy battered octopus balls on a stick, and their shrimp ball skewer.
